TEEN FALLS 50 FEET DOWN DISNEYLAND ATTRACTION MID-RIDE

A frightening moment at Disneyland ended with a fortunate outcome after a 13-year-old boy fell from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the attraction that replaced Splash Mountain, on Sunday.

Video obtained by TMZ appears to show the boy climbing out of the back of the log ride just as it approached the attraction’s signature 50-foot drop. He reportedly fell onto the side of the flume before tumbling to the bottom. Disneyland officials said the guest exited the ride vehicle before the attraction had ended, prompting a cast member to immediately stop the ride.

Despite the dramatic fall, the boy did not suffer serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. The ride remained closed for the rest of the day while California safety inspectors reviewed the attraction. After an inspection by the Division of Occupational Safety and Health, the ride reopened Monday.

The incident has sparked discussion about ride safety, with some guests suggesting additional restraints could help prevent similar accidents in the future.
