MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL IS READY TO JOIN THE NAVY

Written by on May 16, 2022

When you think of the United States Navy and their ships you probably think they all are made and launched off a coastal city. That is not always the case. You may know that one of the main shipyards in the U.S. is actually in Marinette, Wisconsin on the banks of Lake Michigan. That’s where one of the Navy’s latest ships set sail from and made it’s way to the harbor in Duluth on Lake Superior. Why did it go that direction instead of out to sea? There will be a christening of the Minneapolis-St. Paul this Saturday in Duluth of the new ship. This morning it pulled into the harbor in Duluth and there was a some great video of it on a gorgeous morning on The North Shore. So if you you were looking for an interesting trip to take with the family to see something pretty rare this might be the weekend to head up Highway 61 and see the future of Naval superiority.
