THE DEPP/HEARD JURY HAS A VERDICT

Written by on June 1, 2022

If you have been following along (or even if you haven’t but know what’s going on) there was finally a verdict in the defamation trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. After what has felt like a year of coverage the jury came back with a verdict that was somewhat positive for both sides. Both Depp and Heard were found guilty of defamation although one was more guilty than the other. Depp was the bigger winner and basically exonerated being awarded over $15 million in damages due to Heard’s op-ed that implicated Depp as an abusive spouse. The jury also awarded Heard $2 million for statements Depp’s attorney made when the story originally broke. I frankly didn’t care either way these decisions went and followed it in limited fashion. What I did read or see video of was that Amber Heard just wasn’t being truthful and her behavior at times was more odd than some of Depp’s more famous characters. I’m just glad it’s over so I don’t have to hear about it anymore and when their names come up it will simply be about Pirates of the Caribbean or Aquaman.
