COUNTRY STAR OF THE MONTH: CALLISTA CLARK

Written by on January 1, 2022

Callista Clark is in a young and up and coming country singer. Being just 18 years old it makes her the youngest singer currently on the chart, but you wouldn’t necessarily know that by simply listening to her. Born and raised in Georgia she says that she’s been able to sing as long as she’s been able to talk crafting her voice in her grandfather’s church. By ten years old she started expanding her musical abilities by learning to play the ukelele and the guitar while also putting the piano as another instrument in her arsenal. Around this time she also started writing by having a poem she wrote for school become her first song. Before she was a teenager, she got the opportunity to sing with Jennifer Nettles as part of a 4-H event. What really got her attention though was singing a rendition of Creedance Clearwater Revival’s, “Have You Ever Seen The Rain” on Facebook and the 27 million views did not go unnoticed by the music industry.

Hearing such a mature voice from such a young person is a once in a lifetime voice. So, by the age of 15 she was signed to Big Machine Records. Shortly after turning 18 and in the middle of a pandemic she released her first song “It’s ‘Cause I Am” in February of 2021. It has taken a bit of time, but it is steadily climbing the charts and currently sits at number 20. It’s not surprising that she is doing well because with each video of her singing you get blown away from the voice coming from this pixie of a girl. She has collection of songs covering the likes of Adele, Elvis, Travis Tritt, and even Michael Jackson. Each one will make you marvel at her abilities.
