We Will Never Forget

It’s one of the few days of my life that I remember almost every moment of. Where I was, what I was doing, who I was with and conversations I had during the day. I lived in the Twin Cities at that time and parking ramps were closed for bomb sniffing dogs. Police were mobilized all over the cities and suburbs. The Mall of America was closed due to it being a possible target. I worked at the phone company at that time and my day was mostly explaining to people why they couldn’t call out to the east coast cities. Some were business calls and some were panicked family members, but they all understood the magnitude of that morning’s events. That night when I was at home in Stillwater it was eerily quiet with the only planes in the sky being the two F-14 jet fighters circling the cities endlessly. The following commercial gets shared a lot on this day and I think it encapsulated all that could be said months later. It only played once. We all remember where we were.
