Santa Can’t Meet Kids In Person At Macy’s, First Time In Almost 160 Years

Written by on October 23, 2020

Macy’s has announced that Santa Claus won’t be greeting kids at its flagship New York City store this year amid the pandemic, interrupting a cherished holiday tradition that started back in 1861. But Macy’s assures kids that they’ll still be able to meet the jolly old elf this holiday season, as they plan on continuing the tradition in a new way through Macy’s Santaland at Home. Beginning Friday, November 27 through Thursday, December 24, the company says the “magic of Macy’s Santaland will be transformed into an interactive, virtual experience.”
