DULUTH LANDLORD USES IRONY DURING ARSON

Written by on May 24, 2023

We often see TV shows and the occasional movie where a person damages their own property in order to collect money from the insurance. In some cases they are being even more nefarious as they try to murder someone. Usually they do it in secret and try to avoid being caught. The other day a landlord in Duluth, Minnesota decided to set his apartment building on fire, let his upstairs tenant know so they could safely exit, and had Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire” blasting from inside the house. The fire department showed up as well as the police who arrested him and no one was hurt. There doesn’t seem to be a clear explanation as to why he did this at this point. It does seem that he wanted to have a large slab of irony to go with his actions.
