Not everyone gets to make the winning shot or have themselves all over the news for their athletic abilities. There are those players that play the best they can and contribute where they can. They are just as much a part of the team, but they don’t see the playing field as much as others. The other night at the West Salem Panthers’ basketball game they were playing Adams-Friendship and here’s what happened.

“During Friday night’s regional boys basketball game against Adams-Friendship Area School District, the Green Devils’ player #30, Brian Meyer, a senior, made his debut on the basketball court for the final seconds of the game. With the support of our Panthers and his fellow teammates, Brian scored a 3-point shot and made a buzzer-beating lay-up to give the Green Devils the last 5 points of the game. Both teams and fan sections cheered Brian on and you could see, hear, and feel the excitement throughout the gym as he scored. Our Panthers displayed the first class behavior they are known for, led by their Head Coach Mark Wagner who guided their actions during these final seconds, encouraging them to give #30 the ball. While winning is great, these moments are even better! Way to go, Brian!” You can see the video by clicking on the following link.
