ELLE KING GIVES DRUNKEN PERFORMANCE AT GRAND OLE OPRY SHOW FOR DOLLY’S BIRTHDAY

Written by on January 22, 2024

Dolly Parton turned 78 the other day and everyone celebrated it. Nashville rightfully celebrated it the most as she is an absolute icon in country music and around the world as a philanthropist, entertainer, and all around good person. Going to the Grand Ole Opry for a show celebrating her birthday is a treat I’m sure many people would enjoy and be happy to be able to get to. Going to the Opry is almost a religious experience for a lot of people You expect to get a classy show that may be a little more rooted in classic country and the sounds that built that venue. Sure, you might hear someone say a colorful word but in a context relative to the performance or maybe a story. You may even expect songs about drinking and having a good time and maybe about having too many. You don’t expect to see someone on stage drunk and barely able to perform. Along with that they are being crass and swearing every other word and acting like they don’t even want to be there. That’s what happened this weekend when Elle King took the stage. She was drunk off her rear end. She couldn’t sing the cover songs she was performing and was cursing, slurring, and thanking Dolly like she was there. She, luckily wasn’t in attendance. No one will fault a performer for having a good time and a few drinks may be part of their performance. Swear words come out from time to time. However, every artist knows when and where this may be appropriate. This wasn’t the time or place and not every audience member was happy. There are a few videos out there but the one I’m sharing is the least offensive. Google if you want to find more. WARNING: not safe for work language.
